August 2025 Product Updates: Reviews Reporting Enhancements, 1:1 Talking Points in Onboarding, Comp Improvements, and More

Product Updates
August 29, 2025

As summer winds down, we’re closing August with new updates across our platform that strengthen Lattice’s flexibility, reporting, and ease of use. From smarter budgeting in Compensation and cleaner CSV exports in Reviews to new enhancements for our newest product, Performance Improvement Plans, this month’s releases are all about helping People teams scale their workflows without sacrificing control.

Let’s dive in!

Performance Management Updates for More Visibility and Oversight

We rolled out several updates this month that make managing performance reviews and improvement plans more seamless for HR teams, managers, and collaborators.

Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs): Post-GA Enhancements

We’ve added more collaboration and reporting functionalities to help teams track and manage PIPs more effectively:

  • Add non-admin collaborators (like Legal, MoMs, or dotted-line managers) to PIPs to ensure the right stakeholders are involved from the start.
  • Export individual PIP plans to PDF, providing a clean, shareable record of plan details and updates.
  • Export all PIP data to CSV for easier tracking, analysis, and reporting at scale.

Filterable Reviews CSV Exports & Filter Bar Enhancements

We’ve also made review reporting more flexible and precise with several new filtering capabilities:

  • CSV exports now reflect filters applied in-app, so you can download just the data you need.
  • Filter by indirect reports in addition to direct reports, giving a full view of any manager’s org tree.
  • Use the new System Access filter to exclude deactivated employees from your reporting.
A new System Access filter helps admins refine review progress reports by employee status, making it easier to exclude deactivated or invited users from CSV exports and reporting views.

Build Smarter Compensation Workflows

This month’s Compensation updates are all about helping teams move faster and with more accuracy.

  • Flexible Budgeting with Weighted Scores: Admins can now set flexible compensation budgets using weighted scores, not just review ratings. Define custom score ranges, assign corresponding percent increases, and manage guidance with more nuance, all within the same familiar flow.
  • Manager Shareout Permissions: Managers selected for comp shareouts can now view and send compensation statements during the shareout window. This update eliminates confusion and delays while ensuring access is revoked at cycle close to maintain data security.

More Control Over Your Data with the Lattice API

Final weighted scores from performance reviews are now available via Lattice’s Talent API. This unlocks powerful automation and integration use cases:

  • Compensation Planning: Pull weighted scores directly into your HRIS (like Workday or UKG) to drive pay and promo decisions.
  • Automation at Scale: Eliminate manual exports and reduce risk by automating comp workflows.
  • Hybrid Workflows: Use Lattice for Reviews and manage comp in your existing system, with full data continuity.

New HRIS Enhancements for Better Onboarding, Time Tracking, and Flexibility

This month, we’ve introduced a set of HRIS updates designed to make managing key employee moments and day-to-day operations smoother. Admins can now configure 1:1 Talking Points in Onboarding & Workflows, ensuring managers and employees have guided conversations during pivotal times like a new hire’s first week or right after a promotion cycle. We’ve also launched Time Tracking Tasks and Notifications to prompt timesheet submissions, flag approvals or edits, and keep managers in the loop on new or reopened requests. To give teams more flexibility, Onboarding Fields can now be marked as optional, and edits to Start Dates automatically update base pay effective dates and task due dates when a new hire’s start date shifts. Finally, for technical teams, new Time Off API Endpoints make it easy to retrieve time off data directly through the HRIS API.

Admins can now configure 1:1 talking points in onboarding workflows, ensuring managers and new hires have timely, guided conversations during key onboarding moment.
