Performance management doesn’t happen just in performance management software.

It happens in 1:1s, in feedback, in project docs, and increasingly in the AI assistant you open before your email. But too often, the context that helps people grow is trapped across tools. Managers are left hunting through tabs, copying and pasting information, and trying to reconstruct the story of someone’s work from memory.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce Lattice MCP, a secure connector that brings Lattice context into the AI tools your teams already use, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Slack. We're setting a new category milestone as the first performance management platform to officially launch an MCP in frontier AI marketplaces.

With Lattice MCP, managers can draft, edit, and submit performance reviews without leaving the conversation. They can pull in goals, feedback, 1:1s, updates, and previous reviews, combine that context with information from other connected systems like Salesforce, Notion, and Jira.

In other words: Lattice, wherever you work.

The next era of work needs performance context

AI is changing how work gets done. Teams are building workflows across systems, where one prompt can bring together the context needed to make a better decision, prepare for a conversation, or take action faster.

But for AI to be useful at work, it needs the right context.

That is especially true for people decisions. A performance review is not a writing task. A career conversation is not a checkbox. A talent update is not simply a report. These moments depend on understanding the person behind the work: their goals, progress, feedback, strengths, blockers, and growth over time.

That is the context Lattice has helped thousands of high-performing companies build.

Lattice is already where top organizations manage the programs that shape high performance, including reviews, goals, feedback, 1:1s, updates, and more. Lattice MCP extends that foundation into the flow of work, so managers and employees can use trusted people context wherever they are already working with AI.

Meet Lattice MCP

Lattice MCP is a secure connector that lets external AI tools access and act on Lattice data, based on the same permissions each user already has in Lattice.

At launch, Lattice MCP helps managers and employees write stronger performance reviews faster, without the manual work of downloading data, uploading files, or copying and pasting between tools.

A manager can start with a simple prompt:

Give me everything I need to draft this performance review. Pull goals, updates, feedback, 1:1s, and the last review.

From there, Lattice MCP brings the right performance context into the conversation. The manager can ask their AI assistant to identify themes, surface specific examples, and draft feedback in their voice. If their AI tool is also connected to systems like Salesforce, Jira, Notion, or Google Drive, they can pull in additional context from the places work actually happened, like customer impact, project milestones, launch docs, or team priorities.

That means a review can reflect not only what an employee set out to do, but how their work moved the business forward.

Before submitting, the manager can also ask the assistant to review feedback across multiple drafts and flag where language may be inconsistent, vague, or unintentionally biased. For example, it could help identify whether one employee’s review is grounded in measurable impact while another relies on personality-based language, or whether similar contributions are being described differently across the team.

The manager stays in control throughout the process. They can refine the draft, add more evidence, adjust the tone, and submit the final review back to Lattice without switching tabs.

Reviews become faster, more specific, and more connected to real work. Managers spend less time chasing context and more time delivering thoughtful, fair, and useful feedback that helps employees grow.

Secure by design

People data is sensitive. Lattice MCP was built with that reality at the center.

Connecting an AI tool to Lattice does not widen access to Lattice data. Lattice MCP uses the same login, the same permissions, and the same boundaries each user already has in the Lattice UI. Every answer is scoped to what that person is allowed to see.

That means managers can access the context they need, employees can work with their own information, and organizations can bring Lattice into AI workflows without creating a new set of access rules.

Lattice MCP is not a replacement for Lattice AI. It is a different way to bring Lattice context into the tools AI-native teams already use. Lattice AI delivers purpose-built intelligence inside Lattice. Lattice MCP brings context into external workflows, so companies can connect people data with the rest of their business systems.

What comes next

Today, Lattice MCP starts with one of the highest-impact manager workflows: drafting and submitting performance reviews. But this is only the beginning.

The bigger opportunity we see is helping organizations connect people strategy to business strategy in real time. HR teams and executives are being asked harder questions than ever: Where are teams performing well? Where are managers stuck? What engagement signals are changing? Where might retention risk affect execution? How do people trends connect to pipeline, revenue, customer outcomes, and company goals?

Answering those questions today often requires weeks of pulling data from different systems, reconciling spreadsheets, and turning scattered signals into a story.

With MCP, that work can drastically change. Imagine an HR leader preparing for an executive meeting. They ask their AI assistant to pull the latest performance and engagement trends from Lattice, combine them with pipeline data from Salesforce, and create a board-ready narrative on organizational health, talent risk, and business execution. Instead of chasing context across dozens of systems, leaders can start with the full picture and spend their time deciding what to do next.

This is HR’s time to lead. At Lattice, we help thousands of organizations do more than track and report on performance. We’re investing in Lattice MCP so HR leaders can connect people data to business context, back critical decisions with deeper insight, and help their organizations improve performance, strengthen managers, and turn around engagement.

Lattice, in the flow of work

Behind every performance metric is a real person. The goal of using AI in HR should not be to replace that human context. It should be to make it easier to see, understand, and act on it.

Lattice MCP helps teams bring people context into the places work already happens. It helps managers write better reviews, prepare for better conversations, and connect performance to real business impact. And it gives organizations a path toward a more connected, more intelligent way to work.

Because when your people data can move securely with you, everyone gets the context they need to succeed.
