Lattice Earns Great Place to Work Certification

At Lattice, we work every day to help our customers build people-centric cultures and high-performing, engaged, and fulfilled teams. But we know that to succeed in making work more meaningful for others, we have to start with our own team. That’s why making sure Lattice is a great place to work has been part of our mission from the very beginning.

We’re thrilled to share that Lattice has officially earned Great Place to Work® Certification™. Great Place to Work is the global authority on workplace culture, employee experience, and leadership. We conducted an extensive employee survey using Great Place to Work’s rigorous and tested methodology.

Our results make us proud to be Latticians:

  • 99% of employees say Lattice is a great place to work.
  • 100% of our employees would strongly endorse Lattice to friends and family.
  • 100% of employees say people care about each other here.
  • Our team rated our credibility, integrity, communication, community, and engagement at 98% or higher.

“Putting our people first has always been central to Lattice’s success as a company,” said Dave Carhart, VP of People at Lattice. “To us, that means creating a culture where people feel supported, where they can pursue both personal and professional growth. This certification tells us we’re on the right track — and in a time when employees have more choice than ever before, we’re grateful our employees are proud to work here at Lattice.”

In all areas that the survey measures (including credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie), 97% of employees rated Lattice positively, compared to the 87% average of the 100 Best Companies according to Great Places to Work’s 2021 survey. You can see more results on our company profile here

While we’re excited by this recognition, we also take it as a challenge: How can we continue to build on our great foundation to make our culture even stronger in 2022? Already this year, we’ve rolled out a number of programs we’re really proud of, including a sabbatical program for all employees, 401(k) matching, and we made our “Recharge Days” program permanent, giving Latticians an additional seven days off every year on top of national holidays and our unlimited PTO plan. We’re excited to continue finding new and innovative ways to take care of our people, and continue to earn the trust our incredible team has shown in us through these survey results.

Lattice Triples Valuation to $3B, Raises $175M in Series F Funding Round

Lattice, the leading people management platform for businesses with people-first cultures, today announced a new valuation of $3 billion after closing a $175 million round of funding from Thrive Capital, Elad Gil, Tiger Global, and Dragoneer.

Lattice CEO and co-founder Jack Altman said that Lattice decided to take on additional capital less than 10 months after closing a Series E round in March 2021 to continue to fuel the company’s rapid growth across industries and geographies, and advance its product offerings.

“This new funding is a vote of confidence in Lattice’s belief that the world is ready for a new generation of people management products that put employees’ interests first,” said Altman. “Employees have more choice than ever before, and they’re exercising that agency to choose jobs that meet their expectations for growth and fulfillment. Companies that embrace this and build their people systems with the success of their employees at the center are the ones that will thrive in the new world of work.”

The new funding round was also joined by existing investors Founders Fund, HighSage Ventures, Shasta Ventures, Fuel Capital, Khosla Ventures, and several new angel investors. The new investment brings Lattice’s total funding to over $330 million.

The importance of people strategy has taken center stage as the world of work continues to place emphasis on the importance of the employee by increasing emphasis on their growth, development, and holistic well-being. This trend, accelerated by the pandemic, represents a shift in how organizations support and empower their people.

“We’ve seen a few broad trends come together in recent years — the rise of remote work, the evolution of the role of HR — that have fueled the HR market,” said Elad Gil, entrepreneur and investor. “Lattice’s approach of creating a broad suite of interconnected offerings has resonated and led to really exciting growth.”

People strategy is no longer only a concern of Human Resource departments — attracting, developing, and retaining top talent needs to be a company-wide effort in order to better accomplish company goals. With more companies switching to hybrid and remote work models, building strong company culture is also becoming increasingly complex.

With over six years of experience in the performance management and employee growth space, Lattice has proven that people strategy plays a leading role in a company’s business success. Since its founding in 2015, Lattice has grown its team to over 485 employees, an almost 150% year-over-year increase, and serves more than 3,700 businesses including Slack, Asana, and Samsara.

Your new hires should feel like they belong from day one: New Lattice onboarding features deliver great new hire experiences

It’s 2022 – a new year. And a new year means fresh budgets and reinvigorated recruiting, which brings plenty of opportunity and change. Some of that change is welcome: an influx of new hires, optimism and ambitious goals for the business, and an open road ahead to seize them.

On top of these changes, HR teams remain busy with a flurry of challenges like the Great Resignation, safety protocols, hybrid work processes, and yet another coronavirus variant. People leaders are feeling pressure to deliver impact from every angle.

Amid all this, it might be easy to lose sight of how meaningful and lasting a great onboarding experience can be for employees, but it’s a critical part of your People program: Brandon Hall Group found that organizations with a strong onboarding process improve employee retention by 82 percent, and see gains of over 70 percent in productivity. At the same time, most employees aren’t impressed with the way their company handles onboarding: Gallup found that only 12% of employees strongly agree that their organization does a great job of onboarding new employees.

So what’s missing here? Why are companies struggling to give every new hire a great experience and an immediate sense of belonging from day one?

According to HCI research, one of the top reasons is that HR teams struggle to measure the effectiveness of onboarding programs to begin with, and only a quarter of employees say they were asked for their feedback on the new hire experience. Given the positive impact this can have on an employee’s experience, their long-term performance and willingness to refer other potential employees, onboarding should absolutely be one of your top priorities in 2022. Here’s the good news: Lattice is about to make your life easier.

Today we’re introducing three brand new Lattice products and features to help you automatically make a positive impact on every new hire’s experience from day one.

The first we’d like you to meet is Onboarding Surveys. With automated Onboarding Surveys, People teams can not only measure but optimize the new hire experience for every single employee. Why is this crucial? New hires have a unique and valuable perspective on company culture and can share essential feedback about their onboarding experience. Acting on that feedback could be the difference between regrettable attrition and long-term employee retention and engagement.

Onboarding surveys

  • With intelligent start-date-based automation you’ll be getting responses from employees every week about where the onboarding program is succeeding and falling short. Set it up once and turn on a faucet of feedback — no more manual heavy lifting to send ad hoc surveys to every new hire.
  • With cohort analysis, you’ll get rich, ongoing insights that let you know how your program is evolving over time
  • Identifiable responses make your onboarding survey program as actionable as possible for both managers and HR teams, ensuring every employee gets the best onboarding experience possible
  • You won’t be doing it on your own. Lattice offers expert-built survey templates or complete customization with guidance from best practices.

On top of these tools to capture and act on new hire feedback, we’re introducing new and improved tools that let every employee bring their whole self to work and collaborate more effectively and transparently.

Amazing new improvements to the org chart

  • Card and navigation UI improvements that make it easier to see where people sit and what they’re focused on.
  • One-click image exporting for use in slide decks or anywhere else you might need them.
  • Search! Easily find the teammates you’re looking for and see what they’re focused on and where they’re aligned in the business.

Pronouns in Lattice

  • Lattice is committed to building a more inclusive platform, and gender pronouns play an important role in creating a welcoming community for members of all gender identities. The “Pronouns” field in Lattice allows users to add their gender pronouns to their Lattice profile and let others know how to refer to them.
  • Users can add pronouns in the pronouns field in both the registration form and in their account settings as well as edit their pronouns at any time in account settings. Users that choose to add pronouns to this field will have their pronouns displayed in various places across the site next to their name. The pronouns field in Lattice is only editable by the user themselves because it is important to give the power of self-identification to individuals.
